I’m writing Starting… — beginner brass method books with games and Side Quests (short optional creative and social tasks) built into each level.
The first book, Starting Horn, is designed to keep students engaged, confident, and practising while technique develops at a steady pace.

About
I teach horn and brass (beginners to advanced), and I direct a range of ensembles — based in the UK.
I’ve also worked as a professional horn player with leading UK orchestras for 25 years.
Who it’s for
Brass tutors teaching absolute beginners (roughly ages 6–12)
Mainly 1–1 lessons, adaptable for small groups
Progression designed to hand off around Grade 1 playing level (approx.) (Book 2 continues towards Grade 2 playing level)
The Starting… series
Starting Horn is the first book in the Starting… beginner brass series.
Book 1 takes students from the very beginning to around Grade 1 playing level.
Book 2 continues from there towards Grade 2 playing level.
